Mr Hewes performed a gastric bypass on me on 10 August 2017. Mr Hewes and his team were very professional and Mr Hewes personally called my NOK to update them on the progress of my operation. He explained in detail what would take place during my operation and the risks. I have the smallest scars from the operation and I am very pleased with the results. I am loosing weight and my health has improved and I am only 7 weeks post op. I had a small complication which was investigated immediately and I was given the best service to address the issue. Today I have been for my post surgery check up today Mr Hewes answered all of my questions and offered lots of reassurance and praise. Over all I can not recommend Mr Hewes enough. He is a very competent and professional surgeon with a friendly approach to patience.

This doctor was calm and professional and was responsible for my RNY Gastric Bypass Surgery in July 2017. Initially I was not sure about him as I am a very friendly person and felt that he was somewhat reserved however perhaps i am being over-sensitive here. My operation was a success and I have to say that as far as I am concerned the results speak for themselves. My diabetes is much much better (still early days) I no longer have to inject every day and have dropped from 6 tablets for the diabetes to just 2 Metformin every day. I have had no infections or problems with the port holes in my tummy and have healed perfectly. The counselling programme and support group are definitely vital before going thru with this operation and I had to have extra time on my counselling sessions but I am so pleased that I had this done. All in all, I would definitely recommend this surgeon the care I have received has been excellent, also can I quickly say thank-you to all the other staff that helped me with this process I am chuffed to bits and very grateful for all the help and care received.

Met with Mr Hewes this week, he took time to talk to me about my options whether to have surgery or not, risks and benefits, allowed me time to ask questions, gave comprehensive answers. Calm and open manner, was a positive appointment, my review is based on this appointment.
